Biography:
Elias Ghanem is a FINTECH specialist with over 20 years of experience in the ePayment and eCommerce arenas across emerging markets. Elias held senior roles at VISA Inc. and PayPal where he was the Managing Director for South East Asia and then MENA. In 2013 he co-founded Telr in Singapore and Dubai, as the online Payment Gateway for emerging markets. Telr won the "2014 Start-up of the Year" award by Arabian Business in Dubai.
Elias is the Chairman of the Board of Zoomaal , the leading crowdfunding platform in MENA, and sits on the Board of Bridg (mobile to mobile payment), and Paykii (cross border bill payment).
Elias has also been in 2015 the Resident Mentor of the UK Lebanon Tech Hub in Beirut, a start-ups accelerator programme set up by Banque du Liban, the Lebanese Central Bank.
In August 2016, Elias was featured in the magazine Entrepreneur Middle East sharing his thoughts about the startups journey in MENA, the love-hate relationship between startups and VCs and the FINTECH opportunity in MENA. |
