At our TEDxBarcelonaSalon events we foster networking, dialog and the discussion among all members of TEDxBarcelona. In order to achieve this we meet once a month and listen to an interesting talk. After watching the talk we discuss about the presented subject. In order to make this event effective we limit the number of attendees.
Our April TEDxBarcelonaSalon event was taking place in the Moritz factory at Ronda Sant Antoni 41.

Charmian Gooch: Meet global corruption’s hidden players

When the son of the president of a desperately poor country starts buying mansions and sportscars on an official monthly salary of $7,000, Charmian Gooch suggests, corruption is probably somewhere in the picture. In a blistering, eye-opening talk (and through several specific examples), she details how global corruption trackers follow the money — to some surprisingly familiar faces. For her fight against corruption, Charmian Gooch received recently the TED Prize valued at 1 mio of USD. (more info).

We watched her TED talk altogether (in english with spanish subtitles). Afterwards, we discussed about the video among the attendees and we tried to find possible solutions for this problem. We finished the event with networking and a beer for everyone.
