TEDxBarcelonaSalon - Ageism

About this event :

Ageism – discrimination against a person because he or she is elderly – is one of the three major forms of discrimination in our society, behind racism and sexism. The United Nations International Plan of Action addresses the problem of abuse of older people in violation of universal human rights.
At our March event we talked about the reasons behind this phenomenon and how we can work to reduce it.
Josep Vilajoana
Charla – debate – networking
Our guest speaker was Josep Vilajoana, Dean of the School of Psychologists, Vice president of Psicofundación and board member of the Foundation Azheimer Catalunya.
In our event, Josep presented a short TEDx talk explaining the problem and giving us advice to improve the situation. He was then be available for discussion and debate about this subject. We were all able to ask him questions and exchange impressions with him. As always, we ended our event with a networking session with drinks and tapas for everyone (included in the ticket price).
